Automatic Settings Transfer

The Automated Settings Transfer System is designed to streamline the process of migrating configurations from an old item to a new one. This system reduces manual interaction, ensures accuracy, and minimizes downtime for maximum roleplay enjoyment.

Transfer steps

1. Attach the old version of the object.
2. Attach the new version of the object.
3. If there are settings that can be migrated, a dialog will give you the option to transfer them.
4. Click the "Transfer" button and wait for the transfer to complete.
5. After a short while a message in the chat will confirm the success of the transfer. The old version can now be detached.

   RLV enabled items will be set to be able to be detached, once only.
   If you ever attach the item again or on relog, it can lock and you will have to get out of it the intended way.
   It is recommend to detach the old item immediately after the transfer, and either delete it or clearly mark it as outdated.

Common issues

I have transfered settings to an item and I want to do it again. But it doesn't let me.

To prevent cheating, the system will only allow you to transfer settings from the same old version once.

That also includes older versions.
So if you have previously updated from version 1 to version 4, it will only allow you to transfer settings from version 2 and 3.

I have attached both versions of the item, but nothing happens.

Make sure to attach the old version first.

I detached one of the versions mid transfer and it's broken now.

Congratulations! You broke might have broken the new version.
But don't worry, the old version is still totally fine.
We recommend getting a redelivery and performing the transfer again.

It refuses to transfer settings because the old version is "to old"

If the you have skipped multiple updates and there are internal settings that are incompatible it will reffuse to transfer the settings autmatically.

This is your subtle hint to update often. :P
